Supper with Santa and other fun stuff!!!!
On Tuesday night, the Mt. Ida Elementary PTO hosted "Supper with Santa" at the school cafeteria! What fun everyone had! Wendy Harris & her "moms" led the way with the hosting detail food, decorations, etc. The kids were so excited when Santa came right in the door of the cafeteria! We served over 100 folks, parents & kiddos! The enjoyed spaghetti & meatballs, bread, salad and an array of desserts! (I think the strawberry cake was my favorite, minus the icing!) There were only a few little munchkins that would not get close to Santa! Olivia Black was terrified, Averie Pollock was scared & Riley Pittman wouldn't even take bank to get on his lap! What fun! My son, Will along with some of his buddies just kept going back & talking to Santa. I think Will spent a total of about 1 hour talking to Santa! Will was very excited to hear that Santa knew his grandparents! Even his DeDe (grandma) got on Santa's lap! Poor Santa!
Besides the meal, the kids were able to get their picture made with Santa, write a letter to Santa, and create an ornament for an activity! One little boy was so excited that he could not even remember his name! Santa kept saying, "What is your name?", and the little guy just kept repeating his Christmas list! I believe that he is Verby Scrimshire's little boy! This is just one of the most fun activities that the PTO hosts each year! The kids have fun & the parents do as well! We can't wait until next year to do it again!
I would like to personally thank Wendy Harris & the "moms", Bonnie Carr, Jennifer Abernathy, Madonna Gwin, Toni Summers, & Ms. Boardman! This was just Great!
